Eighteen
The defining feature of my world today is heat.
Australia gets hot: 40 degrees celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). That is where we are going in the next few days. It can be cathartic - it can be smothering. I will try to stay cool, here in the early Lunar New Year. I have also read that Eucalyptus trees, which are planted on every continent apart from Antarctica, are exacerbating wild fires worldwide.
Australians are aware that these trees are full of Eucalyptus oil, and that they tend to explode when dried out and subjected to flames. Not something we intended to export, but there it is. Thinking of California at the moment, but Victoria is also on fire.
Stay cool fellow Antipodeans.
